John Dyson founded Millbrook Vineyards & Winery in 1981 alongside his brother-in-law, David Bova. The duo was set on crafting the first vineyard in the Hudson River Region of New York dedicated exclusively to the production of vinifera grapes.

David is originally from Toledo, Ohio and attended Wittenberg University. Along with co-founding the Vineyards & Winery, for over 30 years David has managed the business' day to day happenings. This includes spending copious amounts of time at his desk developing new ideas to help the business grow. David also manages our commercial vineyard operation, Vista Verde, in California. It is not uncommon to find David in the office, walking the grounds, or even behind the Tasting Room Bar.

Winemaker & VP

As a Cornell University Graduate, John has degrees in both Plant Pathology and Entomology. He has been the head winemaker at Millbrook Vineyards & Winery since 1983. John can often be found throughout the vineyard tending to the grapes with his Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Carmella, following close behind. Recently John has taken on an opportunity to share his knowledge and love of wine with others through the Millbrook Vineyards & Winery Winegrowers' Boot Camp.

Stacy
Stacy Hudson

Marketing Director & VP

As the daughter of an Air Force major, Stacy lived in several states growing up. She attended Appalachian State University (NC) where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design in 1992. She moved to New York from Alaska in 1997, answered a help wanted ad in the local paper, and has been honing her marketing skills with Millbrook Winery ever since. Her responsibilities include creating and organizing winery events, creating mailings, advertisements, and POS, and designing custom wine labels for restaurants, retailer stores and visitors to the winery. Stacy can usually be found in her office tapping away at her computer and brainstorming new designs for labels and newsletters…or tasting wine (for promotional materials of course!) in the Tasting Room.

Lynn
Lynn Murphy

Sales Administrator & Book Keeper

Lynn Murphy has been working for Millbrook Vineyards & Winery since 1998. The University of Bridgeport graduate grew up in LaGrange. Today she can be found in the Director of Sales office tapping away on her keyboard. As Sales Administrator and Book keeper, Lynn enjoys the variety her job has to offer.

Ian Baerup
Ian Bearup

Winemaker

Ian Bearup was born in Northern California but was raised in Upstate NY.  After attending Elon University in North Carolina, Ian moved back to Northern California with the notion to get involved with the wine and grape industry. His first harvest was in 2007 at St. Francis Winery in Santa Rosa, California. He then followed that with a year in Anderson Valley at Husch Vineyard working in the winery and the vineyard.  In 2009, Ian to New Zealand to work a harvest season there.   A  move to Oregon after that stint, found him working for a year in a couple different wineries in the Willamette Valley.  He then moved to the Russian River/Sonoma Coast in 2010 and worked a harvest at Balletto as the Enologist. He was then hired full-time there and over the years became the Associate Winemaker working primarily with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In spring of 2021, Ian and his family moved across the country and Ian started as the Winemaker at Millbrook Vineyards & Winery.

Ian and his wife have two children and a large yellow lab that is learning to make friends with all the winery guests! Ian loves eating, drinking, biking, anything related to cars, and is avid F1 fan.

Director of Sales

A Hudson Valley local, Jacob returned to his hometown of Rhinebeck after earning his Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant, Food, and Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University; Ultimately turning his attention to the world of wine in late 2017. When not at the winery Jacob can often be found at his local fire department.

Consumer Relationship & Marketing Manager

When at the winery, Kelly can be found snapping pics for social media or at her desk creating the next digital marketing piece, if it's a Friday Night Food Truck, she'll be out front with a glass of Rosé. When not at the winery, Kelly is an avid equestrian and can be found riding to the hounds.

When it comes to guest relations Carmella takes her job very seriously. She enjoys spending time with our younger guests, especially those that like to share their toys. When she is not spending time with guests, or keeping her owner, John Graziano, company, she can often be found swimming in the pond located on the premises.
