Millbrook, NY (March 18, 2021) – Millbrook Vineyards & Winery, an award-winning wine producer established in Millbrook in 1982, has been awarded best in class chardonnay in one of the world’s most prestigious wine contests.

Each year the New York Annual Wine Classic accepts the top wines to be blind tasted for superiority. This year Millbrook Winery’s 2019 Proprietor’s Special Reserve Chardonnay beat out competitors to win Best in Class (Oaked) Chardonnay.

The 2019 Proprietor’s Special Reserve Chardonnay is fully aged, ten (10) months, in French Oak Barrels giving this wine a brilliant balanced acidity and a refreshingly clean finish. One panelist described the wine as “Buttery with notes of honey suckle and green apples accompanied with great minerality and mouth feel. A very chic wine”Chardonnary - Shop this now

Founded on a former 130-acre dairy farm by John S. Dyson, David Bova, and Winemaker John Graziano; Millbrook Vineyards & Winery produced their first vintage in 1985 and now produces over 15,000 cases of high-quality wines that includes Cabernet Franc – the Hudson Valley’s signature grape – as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Tocai Friulano. Guests are welcome for daily tastings in the property’s restored Dutch barn, and guided winery tours are offered on weekends. The beautiful and picturesque 35-acre vineyard and winery welcomes approximately 25,000 visitors a year for tours and tastings.

The winners of the New York Wine Classic will be announced March 18, 2021 via the online ceremony. The Governor’s Cup, Best of Show and Winery of the year will also be named during the ceremony. The ceremony can be seen on the New York Wine and Grape Foundations Facebook page.
